According to a recent poll the most popular use for a shed in the garden is storage. Garden tools and machinery, top the list followed by general work tools, cleaning equipment and old toys. Bikes Come in as the fifth most common items and 5% of all shed owners keep an extra fridge or freezer. The same poll claimed that the average shed owner spent 2-5 hours a month in their shed and the most popular recreational use was potting plants. Another curious finding was that garden sheds are now one of the most useful refuges for the increasingly put upon tobacco smokers amongst us and 1 out of 10 sheds contain at least two old lawnmowers.
