What do you use you shed for ?

According to a recent poll the most popular use for a shed in the garden is storage. Garden tools and machinery, top the list followed by general work tools, cleaning equipment and old toys. Bikes Come in as the fifth most common items and 5% of all shed owners keep an extra fridge or freezer. The same poll claimed that the average shed owner spent 2-5 hours a month in their shed and the most popular recreational use was potting plants. Another curious finding was that garden sheds are now one of the most useful refuges for the increasingly put upon tobacco smokers amongst us and 1 out of 10 sheds contain at least two old lawnmowers.

Steel Sheds

Try checking out Gardenbuildings direct, they design and construct their own sheds and charge very low prices. I have used these guys for some of my gardening clients over the years and have always found both the service and quality to be of a high standard. They have a wide selection of sheds and garden storage products. I have been particularly impressed with the Beeston steel over the years. The benefit of steel sheds over wood is that they provide and extremely high level of security and do not require any maintenance.

Autumn Time Again

We've reached that time of year again. Garden shed time. Time to put away the garden furniture, paddling pool, barbecue, lawnmower and every last vestige of summer. Such as it was! You are now faced with an annual dilemma. Suddenly, everything that came out of last year's garden shed, won't go back in. Instead of spending countless hours trying to shoehorn everything in, snapping pea-canes and nerves in the process, maybe it's wiser to invest in some new garden storage. It needn't be a huge expense. There's a huge range of sheds on the market, from reasonably priced, easy to assemble, plastic sheds to sophisticated alpine-style garden log cabins. So, don't bend your barrow or let your rakes rust, treat yourself to a new garden shed

Sheds and Garden Design

When you are looking at garden design, don’t forget to include a garden shed. It doesn’t have to be a dilapidated old ‘lean-to’ hidden away in a corner. It could have pride of place, providing not only essential storage, but a means of dividing your garden. Why not make a feature of a lovely timber shed? Building your own shed means you can accommodate all the features you need in terms of garden storage and workspace on the inside, whilst producing a beautiful log-cabin effect on the outside. A well-built wooden shed, using responsibly-sourced timber, will add interest and beauty to your garden and value to your home.
